About

Elen Janota

I am a psychoanalyst focused on the emotional health of women, mothers, and families. My work is built on attentive, professional, trained, confidential, non-judgemental listening — without ready-made answers. A space where each patient can speak freely and begin to understand what lies beneath their suffering.

I work with patients in person in Prague, Czech Republic, and online, in Portuguese, for clients anywhere in the world.

Do you recognise yourself?

Perhaps you see yourself in these words

I should be happy… but I'm exhausted and alone.

My partner doesn't understand what I'm going through.

I have no one to leave the baby with, not even for a breath.

I don't recognise myself anymore.

I'm afraid I might be falling into depression.

My approach

How I work

Psychoanalysis seeks to understand the unconscious conflicts that shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Rather than offering ready-made answers, I work so that you yourself can recognise recurring patterns and find new ways to navigate them.

I believe every story is unique. That is why I offer attentive, professional, unhurried, non-judgemental listening — one that allows previously unconscious content to take shape and meaning.

Throughout the process, many people report a deeper understanding of themselves, transformations in their relationships, and a new way of facing life's difficulties.

The space

A place to be yourself

The practice is located in Prague, Czech Republic — a space designed to offer quiet, privacy, and warmth.

For those in another country or who prefer the comfort of home, online sessions take place via video call, with the camera on, from anywhere in the world.

The theory

What is Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalysis is a therapeutic method created by Sigmund Freud that seeks to understand the workings of the unconscious. Through speech and clinical listening, the patient can recognise emotional patterns, internal conflicts, and experiences that shape their life.

01

Free association

The person speaks without censorship, allowing ideas and emotions to emerge naturally. This helps reveal unconscious content.

02

Analytic listening

The psychoanalyst listens attentively, observing speech patterns, emotions, repetitions, and silences.

03

Interpretation

At certain moments, the analyst offers interpretations to help understand internal conflicts and behaviours.

04

Transference

The patient may project onto the therapist certain feelings or relational patterns. This dynamic is explored as a therapeutic element.
